Does your HDMI cable and port support 4k?
In order to deliver true 4K resolution to your display, you'll need an HDMI connection (both an HDMI cable and an HDMI port) that does not reduce or degrade the video signal to 1080 or lower. HDMI version 1.4 and above offers 4K support (some devices require HDCP 2.2). You may need to consult your owner's manual to determine which HDMI ports on your display support 4K video input. Please consult hdmi.org and wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI for additional technical details on HDMI support of 4K video.
